8-Day East Coast America Group Tour

Day 1: New York

Welcome to the US of A! You’ll touch down in NYC, ready for your East Coast Adventure to begin. You’ll meet your Adventure Leader and the rest of your group in the lobby of your hostel, ready for your trip briefing. From there, it’s off for your first rip-roaring adventure of the trip, which is an unforgettable speed boat ride out into New York Harbor. Get ready to wave hello to Lady Liberty!

Back on dry land, you’ll spend your afternoon getting acquainted with the Big Apple on the Midtown Magic walking tour. Along the way, explore Fifth Avenue highlights St Patrick’s and the Rockefeller Center, the New York City Public Library, and the stunning Grand Central Terminal.

Then, this evening, join your group for a meal to kick off your tour. What’s better to eat in New York than pizza? Head to Bryant Park to eat with an amazing view across to the Empire State Building. After that, your evening is your own – but if you’re looking to get in amongst the bustle of the city, why not head to Times Square for some sightseeing?

Day 2: New York

After grabbing some breakfast this morning, you’ll head across the Brooklyn Bridge, learning more about its fascinating history. Once you’re across the river, embark on the No Sleep ‘Til Brooklyn tour, where you’ll head to Brooklyn Heights, DUMBO, the Timeout Market and much more.

Ever wondered where the hipsters live? Well, they’re all in Williamsburg, so hop on a scenic ferry and head out to spy the area’s famous street art, vintage stores, and endless outdoor bars.

You’ve got another evening to explore at your own leisure, but feel free to ask your guide for the best local recommendations.

Day 3: New York

Breakfast today is a real New York staple – bagels! With your food in hand, listen to songs from the Beatles in Strawberry Fields, and explore the highlights of Central Park in our unmissable tour.

We’ll then take you to the High Line, an amazing green space elevated high above the city on abandoned train tracks. How many murals can you spot? Grab lunch at the artisanal Chelsea Market, before we take you downtown on the ICONYC Tour. Get up-close-and-personal with Wall Street, Federal Hall, the 9/11 Memorial, the Oculus and more!

This afternoon, your next unmissable experience is a must-do in New York. You’ll ascend to the top of One World Trade Center, where you’ll get both a slice of recent American history and breathtaking, 360 degree views across the city.

You’ve got one more night in NYC – so make it count! Why not spend your evening at the theatre, with a visit to world-famous Broadway?

Day 4: Washington DC

We’re up and out early this morning, ready to visit stop number 2 on our East Coast Adventure – Washington DC! You’ll take an Amtrak from New York to the country’s capital, grabbing amazing scenic views of rivers, marshes, and some classic American small towns and bays along the way.

You’ll arrive in the early afternoon – just in time for lunch! We’re taking you to grab the best chilli in the city… but if you don’t believe us, take President Obama’s word for it! Ben’s Chili Bowl gives you a first glimpse into the delicious foodie scene that Washington has to offer.

This afternoon, you’re free to settle in and explore at your own pace. However, for some great low-cost museums, the National Gallery of Art and the National History Museum offer free entry and some truly incredible exhibits. If you’d rather stay outside, why not explore historic Georgetown?

Day 5: Washington DC

After grabbing breakfast this morning, we’re getting you fully acquainted with the capital city on the whole-day Washington Revelations walking tour. See the city’s iconic sites, including the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress, the Capitol, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, the White House and much, much more!

Your evening is yours to spend as you see fit. If you’d like, why not grab a seat and a great drink in the Adams Morgan neighbourhood? Or, if there’s some life left in your feet, head to the vibrant U Street to explore the nightlife.

Day 6: Boston

Up and at ‘em! It’s an early start today as you’re back on the Amtrak – bound for the final destination on your East Coast Adventure, Boston! You’ll check into your new hostel mid-to-late afternoon, just in time for you to drop your bags and head to the Boston Common.

Take a wander through America’s oldest public park, all the way to the North End – also known as Little Italy! While you’re here, grab dinner and try a world-famous cannoli from Mike’s Pastry.

If you’d like, this evening why not try and catch a game at Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox?

Day 7: Boston

This morning, make your way down to Long Wharf to board a boat from Boston Harbor. You’re getting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get up close with the giants of the ocean – whales! You’ll spend your morning whale-watching off of the East Coast.

Once back on dry land, head to Quincy Market – first opened in 1826. Here, you can grab a spot of lunch and visit the hundreds of shops. While there are many of the usual big brands here, we recommend delving into the shelves of the Boston-based brands, where you’ll find all sorts that you won’t find anywhere else in the country.

Boston is one of America’s most historic cities, so it’s time to learn all about it! Explore the city’s Freedom Trail, where you’ll follow in the footsteps of Founding Fathers and many more. Along the way, you’ll see sights like the Park Street Church, Boston Common, and Faneuil Hall.

Then, it’s time to get your academic hat on with a trip to explore the campus of Harvard university – America’s oldest and most prestigious college! Back in the city, enjoy one final group dinner with your fellow Coyotes.

Day 8: Farewell

Sadly, today marks the end of your East Coast Adventure! If you’d like to spend your day in the area, however, we’d recommend heading out to the peaceful Cape Cod for a chance to explore the shops and pristine beaches of Provincetown.
