East Coast America Group Tour
Your East Coast America group tour begins in the world’s most iconic city: New York. This buzzing metropolis has been the inspiration for so much popular culture and our adventure leaders will enable you to unlock the magic of The Big Apple. Kick things off with an afternoon wandering through Manhattan. Uncover the recent tragic events of 9/11 and admire the resilient spirit of the locals with a trip to the Freedom Tower and 9/11 Memorial. Stroll through the Highline Garden before an evening bar-hopping through one of Brooklyn’s hippest districts: Williamsburg.
A morning’s yoga session in Central Park will have you feeling like a New Yorker and then like a Friends character with a trip to a coffee-house. Amble over to one of the city’s famous attractions: The Statue of Liberty. Marvel at the granduer of this American symbol and grab the obligatory photo. More stunning photo opportunities await with a full N.Y.C skyline panorama from the top of the Empire State Buliding. Bid farewell to the “City that never sleeps” as we head over to the nation’s capital, Washington D.C.
There can be few finer spots to work out than on the steps on Lincoln Memorial and we’ll start our D.C. day with an (optional) work out class here. We’ll then guide you through the treasure trove of stellar sights with a city tour taking in the White House, Capitol Hill and the National Mall. There’s also a chance to check out the city’s museums and visit the Martin Luther King Memorial. After a busy, walking day- we’ll relax in the park before an evening at a local jazz bar.
We’ll take the short train ride to Philadelphia. Just like a young Fresh Prince – we’ll “shoot some b-ball” at a local basketball court before discovering the delights of the city. No trip to Philly would be complete without sampling the legendary Philly Cheese steaks and there’s nowhere better then Geno’s. Burn off those calories by doing the Rocky run up the steps of the Museum of Art and see the world-renowned Liberty Bell. That evening – we’ll head over to Fishtown where we’ll admire the urban art and take part in another quintessentially American activity: beer pong!
Head up the coast towards Boston and we’ll spend the afternoon out on the ocean- looking out for whales. View these impressive sea creatures with awesome views of the harbour on your return to Beantown. Having feasted your eyes on the ocean- now satisfy your taste buds with an Oyster Happy Hour in the heart of the city. That evening, either check out a Red Sox game or laugh the night away with an Improv Comedy performance.
It’s now time for something totally different as head out to Cape Cod and experience the relaxed vibes of this gorgeous array of fishing towns. We’ll leave our luggage in Boston and take the ferry over to the Cape where we’ll cycle (or taxi) over the charming town of Provincetown. Stroll amidst the buzzing streets and check out the boutique shops and foodie scene. There’s also a nature reserve to discover and a beautiful stretch of beach to relax upon. That evening- sample some of the local lobster and enjoy a drink on the ocean.
Enjoy a morning on the Cape before heading back, via a lovely bike ride (or taxi) and ferry, to the city. Step back in time with a walk along the Freedom Trail- this tour uncovers Boston’s fascinating history and the role it played in the War of Independence. Having been educated on this key aspect of the history of the U.S- we’ll explore one of the city’s famous districts with a night out in the buzzing district of Southie. For dinner- we’ll teach you how to make a local favourite: clam chowder.
It’s time to bid farewell to your East Coast America group tour! Let us know if you’d like to extend your stay in Boston.
