East Coast America Group Tour
Day 1: New York
Your USA group tour begins in the world’s most iconic city: New York. This buzzing metropolis has been the inspiration for so much popular culture and our adventure leaders will enable you to unlock the magic of The Big Apple. We will all take the ferry over to one of the city’s famous attractions: The Statue of Liberty. Marvel at the grandeur of this American symbol and grab the obligatory photo. Uncover the recent tragic events of 9/11 and admire the resilient spirit of the locals with a trip to the Freedom Tower and 9/11 Memorial. Wander across the striking Brooklyn Bridge before an evening bar-hopping through one of Brooklyn’s hippest districts: Williamsburg.
Day 2: New York
Start the day by walking the High Line, then savour the flavours of the Chelsea Market. Feel like a true New Yorker as you explore the buzzing Bushwick, exploring everything it’s got to offer on a street art walking tour. Explore the vintage stores and indie cafes as you go. Tonight, enjoy a free night in the city.
Day 3: Washington D.C
Bid farewell to the “City that never sleeps” as we head over to the nation’s capital, Washington D.C. Arriving there just in time for lunch, savour a delicious chill bowl at Obama’s favourite spot: Ben’s! Explore the historic and picturesque Georgetown, or go visit the Arlington National Cemetery.
Day 4: Washington D.C
We’ll guide you through the “Washington Revelations” tour and treasure trove of stellar sights with a city tour taking in the White House, Capitol Hill and the National Mall. There’s also a chance to check out the city’s museums including the African American History Museum and visit the Martin Luther King Memorial. After a busy, walking day; we’ll relax in the park before an evening at a local jazz bar or join our hostel’s board game night.
Day 5: Philadelphia
We’ll take the short train ride to Philadelphia. No trip to Philly would be complete without sampling the legendary Philly Cheese steaks and our favourite spot will not disappoint. Burn off those calories by doing the Rocky run up the steps of the Museum of Art and see the world-renowned Liberty Bell. That evening – we’ll head over to Fishtown where we’ll admire the urban art and take part in another quintessentially American activity: beer pong!
Day 6: Boston
Head up the coast towards Boston – a city packed with history, culture and great coffee! That evening, walk across the Boston Common to the North End (also known as Little Italy) for dinner and to try a world-famous cannoli from Mike’s Pastry. If you want, you can also catch a baseball game at iconic and historic Fenway Park, the home of the Boston Red Sox.
Day 7: Boston
Head out to the ocean for a spot of whale-watching. View these impressive sea creatures with awesome views of the harbour on your return to Boston. Having feasted your eyes on the ocean- now satisfy your taste buds with Lobster rolls in the heart of the city. Visit Harvard, America’s oldest university, and then gather for a group dinner.
